The Fall of the House of Usher

Creating a story without using gory details. For example, the death is tragic and not a murder scene from the movie saw, also I would keep it original with the girl coming back from the dead and not something on the lines of voodoo is the reason she came back from the dead. I would even involve incest, but I would make it to where it wasn't straight forward, you would have to decipher the story or clues given to you. Using imagery would help you to describe your surroundings exactly like Poe did in the story too describe a day in Autumn. Even Poe  makes his stories seem perverted (weird) would also be beneficial because it intrigues its readers.

Is there a third option?

Quite frankly I consider myself as as using both my ways and my family ways. There is nothing wrong with with adding your taste to your life but as long as you remember where you came from and remember that no matter how hard you try to distinguish yourself from your family culture, deep down that part will always remain inside you till the right moment. I don't think you have to choose one, you could just use both at an equal state.

Anti-Hero

Ichabod Crane is similar to Namor from the comics because just like Ichabod, he is arrogant, and selfish, but Namor uses his powers for humanity, but he still uses it for his personal gain. Ichabod, on the other hand, likes to manipulate people and use them for his personal gain also he is a gold digger too.
